Why I’m leaving LoveFilm

I’ve had a LoveFilm subscription since the beginning of the summer to allow me to watch a films and games during the boring weekdays/ends. I got a cool two month free trial, two months with the offer that I got! It was awesome, so I rented quite a few cool games and movies including; I am Legend, Cloverfield, Wall-E (Game). The service is good, with quick delivery, awesome customer support and a easy to use website. I simply emailed them with an issue I was having and they gave me and extra disc for free.

But recently, I found the service was slowing down, and the films weren’t being delivered as quick as they could. I then discovered that they had been purchased by Tesco (a supermarket in the UK). I simply thought that £14.99 a month for unlimited DVD & Game rental (2 at anytime) is allot of money for the service that they offer.

Does anyone else use LoveFilm and what do you think of it? How do you get your films, and how do you watch them? I’d like to know!

I used them earlier this year, and was very happy with them, however, it was, like you said, too expensive. I would happily use them again if my parents actually used them too (better value that way), then it’d be more useful. Otherwise, I found them very good - quick delivery, friendly service, and so on.

I think, if you have the money and watch enough films, they’re worth it for sure, but if it’s just the occoasional film, it’s not really that good value. ;)

I was thinking of subscribing, but I don’t see the point any more. Most of the films I want to watch are on the iTunes Store or on Sky HD so why bother.

William - Yeah, sure it’s good for the odd film now and again, but BlockBuster is for that.

Rmaspero - Ah, we are yet to get Sky HD - but I’m thinking about getting a freeSat box to my room.

http://thepiratebay.org for me. I find that even though I pirate a lot of content, I’ve go into HMV or similar every week at least twice and spend money on something I could easily get for free. It’s the convenience factor that does it for me.
