About Me

Hi, I’m James. I’m a student from the UK currently studying a BTEC in IT Proffessionals inc. A+ networking at Hereford College of Techology. Before that I was studying Business Finance and the use of IT.

I’m 18, and since a very young age I have been interested in everything that has an electrical circuit. I first touched a computer at openday at my first school, which was Acorn – a small British computer company. This only application on it was a paint app, which was hooked up to a Dot Matrix printer that only printed in black and white.

After this, I grow up only using Computers and gadgets at School as my parents were to poor to buy a family computer. I used a combination of Commodore 64, Windows DOS, 93, 95 and 98. In the last year of my Primary School life, my family purchased a computer. It was amazing – a Pentium 3, 256MB of Ram Mean Machine! Playing Microsoft Golf & Age of Empires was outstanding for the first time. Then, all of a sudden I became scared of Computer, i hated them and when brought up the simplest error I would scream and hide.

As I moved into High School, I was enough to talk to two girls in the Art Room, who were in the last year, and controlled the lights for School Performances, this was an end of term concert. After they had left, I asked the drama teacher If I could become an operator, he agreed and this started off my passion for music, drama and technology. I asked a friend he didn’t mind helping and learn with me the controls. This was my best friend, Matt and still is my best friend and he has been since I was 5.

Over the course of the year, we became to realisation about what we had on our hands. Two unqualified, unprofessional Audio & Sound Technicians. Then branched out and dragged into our group, Scott & Ben. Ben became a full sound Tech and did most of the operations while I set up the audio equipment. We worked together as a team on shows, while Mat did the lights.

During my High School life, I learnt how to play the Cornet, Steel Pans, Guitar, Piano and the Drums. Although, apparently I was good at Singing & acting I never wanted to be in a show, but wanted to be controlling it from the back. The last year of School, my friend (a diff. Matt) Matt was doing a audition for my Fair Lady, the part of Freddy in which he was terribly nervous for. I said i would go with him for it, and sing with him. Unbeknown to my music teacher, I had a really good singing voice (to my disbelief). I accidentally stole the part of Matt, and ended up being Freddy in My Fair Lady, singing the famous, on the street where you live.

Throughout the whole of High, I was the top-PC technician. Training Teachers on how to use Interactive white boards, and the building and setting up PC’s. But something happened at the end, the discovery of my Dyslexia. In the very last few weeks, a teacher called me in for a complex series of tests, in which a few i failed and showed that I’m just over the border of being Dyslexic. I’d worked that hard, that teachers didn’t notice and that I just hid it very well.

After 5 years my time was up at Queen Elizabeth and I moved onto Hefeford Tech to where I studdied a BTEC in Business Finance and the use of IT where I passed with a Merit & Two Destinctions.

In between School & College work, I throughly enjoy a good long, excillerating walk & to go Camping with friends. I have been all the way around the UK camping, and walking and have some of the most spectactular places and I am grateful to my family who have helped me get there.

To all who have read this, Thankyou – you mean allot to me..
